Dr. Oscar Gonzales, CEO of the Huntsville Area Association of REALTORS® was named today as the Vice President of Administration for the 11,517 member Alabama Association of REALTORS® by JDanny Cooper, the Executive Vice President.
In naming Dr. Gonzales, Cooper said, “Oscar is highly respected in Alabama and throughout the nation for his focus on delivering services to REALTORS® to assist them in providing expert assistance to their clients and customers. He is an association executive who successfully maintains a member and staff partnership meeting the needs of REALTORS® who specialize in residential, commercial, property management, land, international and all segments of real estate markets.
In accepting the appointment, Gonzales said, “I am excited at the opportunity that has been presented to me to serve as the Vice President of Administration for the Alabama Association of REALTORS. The position will provide an opportunity to cast a wider net of strategic and innovative services that meet the actual real life, “they-do-this for a living” needs of REALTORS in Alabama. Helping to enhance the highly respected position of the Alabama Association of REALTORS as a leader among state associations is exciting.”
Oscar Gonzales is recognized as one of the nation's top thought leaders in the real estate industry. He is a nationally-known speaker & author on real estate trends, consumer behavior, and business modeling and planning. His comments have been published in USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Washington Post, and The Kiplinger Letter, as well as multiple business and real estate journals. He is also a regular commentator on National Public Radio (NPR).
He has spent over 20 years with REALTOR® associations in executive staff positions with the Houston, TX, Austin, TX, and Huntsville AL Associations. Prior to joining REALTOR associations, he served as a senior tax and audit manager in public accounting firms.
He was named by REALTOR® Magazine as one of the 25 Most Influential People in Real Estate Nationwide and as an "Industry Icon" by Broker Agent Magazine, and served as the 2009-2011 National Association of REALTORS (NAR) Presidents Liaison to Mexico.
He has been active in several organizations including the American Diabetes Association, the American Lung Association as well as various college advisory boards, chambers of commerce and economic development councils. He is a Leadership Graduate from both the Austin and Houston, TX chapters.
Oscar holds a BBA in Accounting, a MBA in International Business and Finance, a PhD in Business Administration, and earned a post doctorate certificate in Strategy and Innovation from M.I.T Sloan School of Management.
The announcement of Gonzales’ appointment was made today in both Huntsville and at the state association offices in Montgomery.
