Montgomery, Ala.- The Alabama Association of REALTORS® (AAR) named James Dye, member of the Birmingham Association of REALTORS® (BAR), the Alabama REALTOR® of the Year at its annual convention in Charleston, SC.
The Alabama REALTOR® of the Year award is given to someone who exhibits outstanding professional, civic and association achievements. Over the past 32 years, Dye has been involved at the local, state and national levels. He served as president of BAR in 2009 and is currently a regional vice president for AAR. Dye has been a national director for the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) since 2004 and is involved with several NAR committees and task force groups concentrating on risk management, license law and board of education. He is senior vice president of RealtySouth where he oversees the management of several branch office operations.
Hal Tillman, 2009 Alabama REALTOR® of the Year, introduced Dye as the 2010 recipient by reading words from the application submitted by BAR.
“He can find something good in every circumstance,” said Tillman. “He inspires with his sense of humor and has a positive perspective on life. Nothing seems to get him down.”
Dye is not only devoted to his profession, but to his community. He serves as a board member for Young Business Leaders of Birmingham and as a director for Big Brothers Big Sisters. He has been a Habitat for Humanity volunteer as well as assistant coach for a community school baseball team.
The Alabama Association of REALTORS® is the voice of real estate in Alabama. AAR is the trade association for real estate professionals in Alabama, who work in the residential, commercial, property management, resort and appraisal markets.
