Montgomery, Ala.– Today, the Alabama Association of REALTORS® (AAR) announced their endorsement of Bradley Byrne in his campaign for Governor.

AAR proudly continues its commitment to more than 15,000 members, their families, their clients and customers as well as fellow Alabamians in endorsing the candidate for governor who will best meet the immediate and future needs of this state. After weeks and months of evaluating and reviewing the background, records and platforms of candidates for governor, ARPAC Trustees and the AAR executive committee voted unanimously to endorse Bradley Byrne for governor of Alabama.

AAR believes future services and programs of state government will require tremendous stewardship from elected officials.  Looming budget challenges will demand the most serious executive and legislative due diligence in our state’s history. Byrne is the only candidate who has a consistent and open public record of being a watchdog for education funding and accountability in educational programs. He possesses the charisma to promote Alabama to those who are looking for a place to locate their company. Byrne will be the most competitive governor in our region in recruiting and bringing new jobs to Alabama.

"Educating our children is a responsibility we must make a priority, and one where state resources must be used to directly educate our children and not be spent on pet projects or for any unnecessary purpose,” said AAR President, Keith Kelley. “With the difficult economic times and the major budgeting concerns facing the state in the coming years, Alabama needs a Governor that has proven he can make the difficult decisions that are in the best interest of all Alabamians and Bradley Byrne has proven he is that person,” added Kelley.
AAR works diligently to preserve private property rights for the citizens of Alabama, as well as home ownership opportunities for those citizens. Byrne will work with the legislature and industry to protect private property rights and to create a state economy where people can be proud to call Alabama home!

Joe Rhodes, 2009 AAR President said, “Bradley Byrne has the courage to lead Alabama forward and his straightforward style will be necessary in 2011 and beyond. He has the ability to pull Alabamians together so we all can make difference together.

“Bradley Byrne is ready to tackle the tough issues Alabama faces, he has a no nonsense style called for in these troubling times. Alabama will be proud of Governor Byrne,” said Birmingham’s Jim Dye, 2010 Regional Vice President. “Bradley Byrne is not going to base Alabama’s economic future on one revenue stream alone. We won’t be looking backwards with Bradley Byrne as governor; we will be with him in focusing on what has to be done today so we can ensure a bright future for Alabama,” added Dye.
