Montgomery, Ala.- The Alabama Association of REALTORS® (AAR) installed Richard Van Valkenburgh as 2010 Secretary during the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) convention in San Diego, Calif.

Van Valkenburgh is president and designated REALTOR® of Van Valkenburgh and Wilkinson Properties, Inc. He is a member and past president of the Huntsville Area Association of REALTORS® (HAAR), a state director and 2005 AAR REALTOR® of the Year. Van Valkenburgh has served on numerous local and state committees during his career in real estate. He also represented HAAR as its first National Director to the National Association of REALTORS®.

Oscar Gonzales, HAAR Association Executive, is confident Van Valkenburgh will lead AAR in the right direction.

“As a leader, Richard has demonstrated his commitment and skills to the industry in many ways: through committees, as a director and officer, and more importantly as President of the association,” said Gonzales. “His contributions to the association are too numerous to mention but have helped make the association what it is today.
