MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Alabama Association of REALTORS® (AAR) honored Marilyn R. Seier with the Robert Jemison Award at the AAR 2012 Winter Conference in Montgomery, Ala.
The Robert Jemison Award is given in honor of Robert Jemison, Jr., who in 1926 became the first Alabama REALTOR® to serve as president of the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR). This prestigious award recognizes the long and valued association service of a REALTOR® or REALTOR-ASSOCIATE® that has served in voluntary and leadership positions for a minimum of 15 years.
Seier, member of the Birmingham Area Association of REALTORS® (BAR), began her real estate career in 1976. She served as BAR president in 2005 and AAR Jefferson-Shelby-Blount regional vice president in 2008.
Hal Tillman, 2010 recipient of the Robert Jemison Award, presented Seier with this honor.
"Marilyn has demonstrated her commitment to organized real estate, the rules and regulations of her local board and the NAR Code of Ethics through her leadership positions at the local, state and national levels,” said Tillman. “She is truly worthy of this award."
The Alabama Association of REALTORS® is the voice of real estate in Alabama. AAR is the trade association for real estate professionals who work in the residential, commercial property management, resort and appraisal markets.
