REALTOR® Day at the Capitol

The event will be an opportunity for networking with fellow REALTORS® and political leaders from all three branches of government, while advocating for REALTOR® issues. Attendees will also get to hear from leading voices in Alabama politics, and the day will conclude with our annual Legislative Reception at the Alabama REALTORS® building. On Wednesday we will host the At Home with Diversity® course.

The course is worth 6 hours of GRI elective credit and 6 hours of Alabama CE credit.

Members who make a pledge to be a Major Investor for the year 2023 will receive free admission to all REALTOR® Day activities. 2023 Major Investor pledge forms must be submitted to and received by AAR by February 24, 2023 to be eligible for a free REALTOR® Day ticket. If a Major Investor Pledge DOES NOT SHOW to REALTOR® Day events they will be charged the full registration fee. The At Home with Diversity® course is a separately ticketed event and is not included in this promotion.

Liz Laurie Bogie

Account Executive at Alabama Media Group

Liz Laurie Bogie is an Account Executive for Alabama Media Group. In this role, she works alongside her clients to execute successful strategic digital marketing campaigns. Since joining AMG in 2019, she has built a clientele of some of the state’s largest blue-chip companies, trade associations, and state agencies. Liz’s primary focus of her job is cultivating partnerships with This Is Alabama, the “Good News Movement” that shares why Alabama is the best place for economic development, innovation, workforce recruitment, and talent retention, among others. The Alabama Association of REALTORS was one of the first partners Liz recruited, and they remain a treasured partner and solid proponent of TIA’s hard work sharing the best of Alabama with the world. Prior to returning home to Alabama, Liz spent a decade in Washington DC, starting her career on Capitol Hill with Rep. Martha Roby. She went on to work with former DHS/CIA/CBP leaders at a global cybersecurity consulting firm, handling external communications and event planning for one of DC’s largest restaurant and entertainment groups, and joining the Front Office with the Washington Nationals as the MLB team’s Manager of Administration and VIP Services. Liz earned her political science and communications degree from University of Alabama and her master’s degree in Strategic Communication from American University. Born and raised in Montgomery, Liz now lives in Vestavia Hills with her husband, Justin, and daughter, CeCe.

Greg Canfield

Secretary of Commerce

Greg Canfield has served as Secretary of the Alabama Department of Commerce since July 2011. In this role, he has provided consistent leadership for a statewide team of economic development professionals while helping to shape a strategic vision for sustainable economic growth and meaningful job creation across Alabama. Canfield reports directly to Governor Kay Ivey and frequently plays a leading role in negotiations with companies considering Alabama in their growth plans. During Canfield’s tenure, industry publications have repeatedly honored Alabama for economic development success. Because of extensive international travel, Canfield has developed a diverse range of high-level business contacts around the globe. As Commerce Secretary, he has led Alabama delegations to high-profile European air shows and on numerous trade missions to locations around the world, helping to drive export growth.

Russell Davis

Executive Vice President of the Home Builders Association of Alabama 

Russell Davis has served as the Executive Vice President of the Home Builders Association of Alabama since 1984.  The HBAA represents the residential housing industry with 8,000 members statewide. In addition, Davis is the Fund Administrator for the Alabama Home Builders Self Insurers Fund, a workers compensation trust fund with an average $44 million in annual contributions.  In existence since 1984, the Fund serves approximately 5,400 members. A United States Army veteran, Davis is a graduate of the University of Maryland.  He is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) and is a past president of the Alabama Society of Association Executives.  He is certified by the National Association of Home Builders as a Building Industry Association Executive (BIAE). Davis chaired the Business Associations’ Tax Coalition (BATC) for 6 years and currently serves on the executive committee of the Alabama Civil Justice Reform Committee and chairs the Alabama Council of Association Self Insurers’ Funds.

RaJane Johnson

Alabama REALTORS® President

RaJane Johnson is a long-time resident of Hartselle with an in-depth knowledge of Morgan County and the surrounding areas. Well-rounded, knowledgeable, and experienced in all areas of the real estate industry, she prides herself on being a “one-stop-shop” for VIP treatment for both buyers and sellers. One of the things that puts RaJane at the top of her profession is her dedication and passion to making a difference in the North Alabama Real Estate market and her pursuit to protect and promote homeownership throughout the country. Timothy Mills

Alabama REALTORS® ARPAC Chair

Timothy Mills is a graduate of the University of South Alabama where he earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science. He matriculated to Troy University where he earned a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Public Management. Timothy has been a Realtor since 2007. He is currently working on the distinct designation of Commercial Certified Investment Member (CCIM). Currently, he’s the Senior Broker Associate with The Cummings Company. Timothy is a member of the National Association of Realtors where he serves on the National Major Investor Counsel and as Federal Political Coordinator. Timothy serves as President-Elect for Mobile Area Associates Realtors and President Gulf Coast Multiple Listing Service. Timothy was appointed by Mobile City Council to the Affordable Housing and Neighborhood Revitalization Commission.

Dr. Tanjula Petty

Assistant Provost  for Student Success and Special Initiatives

Dr. Tanjula Petty is an experienced administrator who leads policy development and inspires change through collaborative leadership and data driven decision-making.  She has an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership, Policy, and Law from Alabama State University, a MS in Public Administration, and a BS in Resource Management, both from Troy University. Dr. Petty is a passionate, outcomes-oriented leader who has dedicated her career to advancing access and student success through a lens of equity for disadvantaged students.  Dr. Petty is considered a scholar-practitioner and possesses a wealth of experience in accreditation, academic affairs, student services, diversity, enrollment management, institutional effectiveness and research, fiscal accountability, facilities planning, public relations, strategic planning, and workforce development/career and technical education.  She authored A Challenge to Higher Education Leaders in the Wake of a Social Injustice Crisis and Leading in The Midst of a Crisis book chapter for Magna Publications, and is published in the College Student Journal and the National Teacher Education Journal. She is on the Advisory Board of Leadership in Higher Education and an evaluator for the Southern Association of Colleges & Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).

Paul Pinyan

Executive Director of the Alabama Farmers Federation

Paul Pinyan is executive director of the Alabama Farmers Federation and general manager of Alabama Farm Bureau Services, Inc. As executive director, he oversees the staff, programs and finances of the Federation and its affiliates. Paul also assists the Federation and Alfa Insurance president with the promotion of agriculture through policy implementation, public relations, education, leadership development and member services. Paul joined the Federation staff in 1998 as an area organization director. In 2000, he moved to the Department of Governmental Affairs as director of agriculture and environmental legislation. Paul was named assistant department director in 2004 before being promoted to director in 2007. He held that position until his appointment to executive director in 2010. Paul serves as chairman of the Alabama 4-H Foundation; treasurer of the Alabama FFA Foundation; treasurer of the North Alabama Agriplex and is on the boards of directors of the Alabama Farmers Agriculture Foundation, Farm Bureau Bank, Southeastern Livestock Exposition, and Montgomery Chamber of Commerce. He also serves on the advisory boards for UAB Medical School Montgomery Campus and Baptist Medical Center South.

Greg Reed

Senate President Pro Tem

Greg Reed is the President Pro Tem of the Alabama Senate. He has served in this capacity since 2021, when he was unanimously elected by his colleagues to serve as the top-ranking member. Reed previously served as Senate Majority Leader from 2015 to 2021. During his first term in office, Reed served as Chairman of the Senate Health Committee from 2011 to 2014. Media outlets have credited Reed as being a “brilliant tactician” who brings a business-type mentality to the governing process. Reed’s business career spanned more than three decades in the medical device sales industry. Reed attended Walker College, which is now Bevill State Community College, before earning his bachelor’s degree at the University of Alabama.

Dr. Kimberly Robinson

Executive Director and CEO of the U.S. Space and Rocket Center 

Dr. Kimberly Robinson is the CEO and Executive Director of the U.S. Space & Rocket Center. Kimberly graduated with a doctorate in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Vanderbilt University. Her three decades at NASA included positions as Utilization Manager for Advanced Exploration Systems for the Artemis Program, Payload Mission Manager for Artemis 1, Strategic Communications Manager, Deputy Program Integration Manager for NASA’s Space Launch System, and Program Integration Manager for Ares I-X. Awards include NASA’s Exceptional Achievement Medal, a Silver Group Achievement Medal, and the Astronaut Corps’ Silver Snoopy Award.

Bobby Singleton

Senate Minority Leader

Senator Bobby Singleton is serving his fourth term in the Senate. He was elected on January 25, 2005, to fill the unexpired term of former Senator Charles Steele. He served in the Alabama House of Representatives for one term. Senator Singleton has a B.S. Degree in Criminal Justice from Alabama State University and a Juris Doctor from Miles College; he is a consultant. Senator Singleton is a member of Greenleaf Missionary Baptist Church, Greensboro Alabama and he is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.

Todd Stacy

Publisher of the Alabama Daily News

Todd Stacy is the Publisher of the Alabama Daily News and host of Capitol Journal on Alabama Public Television. He has worked in and around Alabama politics for 20 years, from the State House in Montgomery to Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. His morning newsletter is a "must read" for Alabama politicians and policymakers in Montgomery and Washington. Todd hails from Prattville, Alabama and graduated from Auburn University.

Maurice Taylor

Maurice has spent twenty years in the real estate business, was named 'Realtor of the Year' by the North Pulaski Board of Realtors in 2008 and 'Realtor of the Year' by the Little Rock Board of Realtors in 2011.  Has served in various leadership positions in the North Pulaski Board of Realtors, the Little Rock Board of Realtors and on the Board of Directors of the Arkansas Realtors Association.  A Past President of the Arkansas REALTORS® Association, Maurice is also a member of the National Association of Realtors and serves in leadership.
