Hello, Alabama REALTORS®!

With our 2017 Annual Convention just three weeks away, I wanted to send you a short note to bring your attention to a few important matters.

First, I hope that you’ve already registered to attend our Annual Convention and Trade Show. If you have registered, thank you! If you haven’t registered, I encourage you to do so. Our convention will take place Sunday, October 1 through Tuesday, October 3 in Montgomery.

Our convention program is new, with fast-paced, hard-hitting, 25-minute sessions one after the other, covering every facet of our industry, from rural land, to legal challenges facing real estate professionals, to property management, to preparing for the 2018 election cycle. There really is something for everyone this year! Attending the Annual Convention and Trade Show is your opportunity to meet new colleagues, celebrate each other’s successes at our awards breakfast, learn some new tricks-of-the-trade, dance the night away to a Motown band at our officer installation reception, and help shape the future of our Association. For more information and to register,  please visit the registration page

Speaking of shaping the future of our Association, the general membership meeting at Annual Convention will take place in the Montgomery Performing Arts Center (MPAC) theater on Sunday, October 1, at 4:30 p.m., immediately following the Board of Directors meeting. At the membership meeting, you’ll have the opportunity hear about and vote on several proposed bylaws changes. The changes are our Association’s opportunity to increase transparency in our business processes and better align them to meet the challenges of today’s real estate industry and the mission of the National Association of REALTORS®. To view the proposed bylaws changes, please see the Constitution & Bylaws section of the Alabama REALTORS® website.

The last thing I want to share with you is that it is almost time to elect the 2018 Executive Committee. Voting will be open for 48 hours starting at 12:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 19 and will be conducted electronically. You will receive an email with voting instructions when voting opens. The results will be announced on the Alabama REALTORS® website no later than Friday, September 22. To view the candidates for office, please see the 2018 AAR Officer Elections section of the website.

Alright…that’s it for now. I hope to see you in Montgomery next month for Annual Convention!

Warm regards,
