SB 337, which provides updates to the Uniform Condominium Act, sponsored by Senator Rodger Smitherman (D-Birmingham), was signed into law on March 28 by Governor Ivey as Act No. 2018-403.

The Uniform Condominium Act was last revised in 1991. Since then, there have been significant changes in the real estate market that have affected condos being developed, purchased, sold and operated. Act No. 2018-403 provides much needed updates and clarifications to the Uniform Condominium Act for condo owners and developers.
