HB 421, a bill that would better protect landlords from frequent breaches to lease agreements, was signed into law by Governor Ivey as Act. No. 2018-473 on Wednesday, March 28.

Representative David Sessions (R-Grand Bay) sponsored this legislation that changes the current law by decreasing the number of curable breaches from four to two within a 12-month period.

Alabama REALTORS® supported HB 421 because it allows tenants flexibility while better protecting landlords.
