On August 20, REALTOR® members gathered at the Alabama REALTORS® building for the third annual Public Policy Forum. The well-attended event received a tremendous response.  

The Forum was led by members of the AAR Public Policy Committee. President Stacey Sanders welcomed members, followed by Morgan Ashurst, Public Policy Chair, who gave a 2019 Public Policy update. Ashurst, along with Slade McElroy, Public Policy Vice Chair, and Wes Grant, Public Policy Committee Member, moderated the forum.
 

Prior to the event, our local boards, real estate professionals, and industry leaders provided helpful feedback about issues they are seeing in their markets. During the open forum, REALTORS® discussed the earlier feedback and other issues present in their markets. These ideas and issues will be used to help shape the 2020 legislative and public policy goals and long-term public policy goals for this quadrennial session (2019‐2022).

A big thank you to Lt. Governor Will Ainsworth, who provided a state political update and 2020 legislative outlook during lunch.
