Alabama REALTORS® Announces Endorsements for 2020 Primary Election

The Alabama REALTORS® Political Action Committee (ARPAC), the political arm of the Alabama Association of REALTORS®, has made its endorsement of candidates for the primary election to be held on March 3. The list includes candidates for the Public Service Commission, Supreme Court, and Civil and Criminal Appeals. The candidates endorsed exhibit a commitment to home ownership, private property rights, and economic growth and development.  

“The real estate industry and Alabama’s economy are dependent upon each other to remain healthy and thriving,” said Forrest Meadows, ARPAC Trustees Chair. “We look for candidates who understand the relationship between the two, and share the REALTOR® vision of protecting private property owners against harmful legislation and fighting for policies that will aid in the development of prosperous communities and businesses across the state.”

“We feel strongly that these candidates will work hard to ensure private property rights remain a top priority and support efforts for economic growth and homeownership in Alabama,”said Jeremy Walker, Alabama REALTORS® Chief Executive Officer.

The Alabama Association of REALTORS® (AAR) is the largest statewide organization of real estate professionals comprised of over 16,000 members from 25 boards and 1,200 real estate companies.  United by adherence to a Code of Ethics, our members work as real estate professionals in the sale, lease, appraisal, management and development of residential, commercial, rural and resort properties throughout Alabama.

For the Alabama Public Service Commission, ARPAC endorses:

For the Alabama Supreme Court, ARPAC endorses:

  • Place 2 Associate Justice: Brad Mendheim

 For the Alabama Civil Court of Appeals, ARPAC endorses:

  • Place 1 Judge: Bill Thompson
  • Place 2 Judge: Matt Fridy

For the Alabama Criminal Court of Appeals, ARPAC endorses:

  • Place 1 Judge: Mary Windom
  • Place 2 Judge: Beth Kellum

The National Association of REALTORS® Political Action Committee has also announced who it will be supporting for the U.S. House of Representatives races. The National Association of REALTORS® was founded in 1908 and is America’s largest trade association with approximately 1.1 million members including NAR’s five commercial real estate institutes and its societies and councils. REALTORS® are involved in all aspects of the residential and commercial real estate industries and belong to one or more of some 1,400 local associations or boards, and 54 state and territory associations of REALTORS®.
