A Note from President Morgan Ashurst

Dear Friend,

As we continue to learn more about the seriousness of the coronavirus (COVID-19) with news and updates that move faster than we can follow, these are challenging times for all of us as REALTORS® and those whom we serve as clients and consumers.

As REALTORS®, we are known to put everyone else’s interest in front of our own-including our personal health and safety. Today, I ask you to put yourself and your health in front of others.  We are in trying times right now in our country driven by fear of the unknown.

It is important for us to understand that today we have a choice- a choice to ignore the threats or a choice to adapt to the threats of the virus.  I heard a sermon on Sunday and the minister said do not live Fearful but Careful. This resonated with me. Although these are unprecedented times, let’s try not to focus on the fear, but rather what we can do to help those in need and come out of this stronger than before.

This is an opportunity for us to come together because no one knows a REALTOR® better than a fellow REALTOR®.  I encourage you all to take time and reach out to another REALTOR® and let them know that you are there for them.

The real estate industry will change during this time, but it will come back stronger than ever.  We live in a great state with so many opportunities around us. The market has been at an all-time high for so long we all knew a correction was coming. Fortunately, market fundamentals are very strong, there is strong confidence in lending institutions and access to capital, rates are at all-time lows, and we still have an inventory problem in almost every market. All of this will create opportunities in real estate when we get through this pandemic.  This is an opportunity to reach out to your clients and communities and be the trusted voice of real estate.

Please be safe and put the health and safety of you and your family first.  Be careful, but not fearful. May God bless you and your family during this time.
