RE: AAR Board of Directors: Updates on Stay at Home Order, Moratorium on Evictions and Foreclosures

RE: AAR Board of Directors: Updates on Stay at Home Order, Moratorium on Evictions and Foreclosures

Dear AAR Directors,

On behalf of President Morgan Ashurst, we are writing to provide several important updates:

  • Governor’s Stay at Home Order: This afternoon, Governor Ivey issued a stay at home order for the state.  Within the Order, real estate services are included in the list of essential businesses that may continue to operate within strict guidelines.
    • It is extremely important to emphasize to those within your sphere of influence that this is not business as usual for our members. If the Governor’s office and other state leaders receive reports about irresponsible or reckless behavior from our members, this privilege can be swiftly ripped away.
  • Governor’s Supplemental Order: Also this afternoon, Governor Ivey supplemented yesterday’s order to provide temporary relief for evictions and foreclosures during the pandemic. Nothing in the order shall be construed as relieving any individual of the obligation to pay rent, make mortgage payments or any other obligations.

We have an all member email update going out soon. Please reach out to Morgan, Slade or me if you need anything from us or AAR. Stay safe and healthy.

Warm regards,

Jeremy
