AL Dept. of Insurance Creates New Division for Natural Disasters and Wind and Flood Mitigation

Last Thursday, May 14, the Alabama Department of Insurance (ALDOI) announced the creation of the Mitigation Resources Division. The Mitigation Resources Division will support reducing the risks of natural disasters for policyholders and insurance companies and will house the Strengthen Alabama Homes program, the Flood Insurance and Mitigation section, the Community Mitigation and Resiliency section, and the Disaster Preparedness and Recovery section.

Alabama is one of the best states in the nation at mitigating the risk to homes from natural disasters like hurricanes and tornadoes. The Department hopes that the new division will further these mitigation and resiliency efforts.
