2022 REALTOR® Day at the Capitol Recap

2022 REALTOR® Day at the Capitol Recap

More than 200 Alabama REALTORS® recently gathered in Montgomery to attend the 2022 REALTOR® Day at the Capitol. Members enjoyed a great time networking, hearing from leading voices in Alabama politics, and advocating for private property rights and the real estate profession.

The morning session was held at The Renaissance Hotel and included a 2022 Legislative Session panel discussion featuring Alabama House Minority Leader Anthony Daniels and House Majority Leader Nathaniel Ledbetter and moderated by Alabama Daily News publisher Todd Stacy. Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall also delivered an informative presentation over lunch, unpacking the legal and political landscape of the 2022 Legislative Session and walking members through several relevant legal cases and rulings that may have an impact on upcoming legislation.

Prior to making the trip over to the State House, members received a legislative briefing from Alabama REALTORS® CEO Jeremy Walker who shared the latest on the Association’s legislative items.

We were also pleased to recognize the great success of the efforts of our members in meeting – and exceeding – our 2021 ARPAC goals. ARPAC Trustee Vice-Chair Tim Mills presented the 2021 Governor’s Cup awards. The Governor’s Cup focuses on success in three major fundraising indexes – Major Investors, Participation, and Overall Fundraising rankings. 11 Associations met this challenge and were recognized.
