Governor Ivey Appoints Kim Barelare and Juanita Taggart-Jones to Alabama Real Estate Commission

On April 1, 2024, Governor Kay Ivey appointed Kim Barelare and Juanita Taggart-Jones to the Alabama Real Estate Commission. 

Barelare will begin her term immediately upon Senate confirmation, serving as a representative of Alabama's Fourth Congressional District. Her term runs through September 2028. Taggart-Jones will begin serving as a representative of the Seventh Congressional District of Alabama on October 1, 2024 upon confirmation. Her term runs through September 2029.

Barelare resides in Crane Hill in Cullman County and is an agent with Keller Williams.  Barelare has been a REALTOR® for more than 34 years as both an agent and broker, spending a large portion of her career in the Birmingham area before moving to Cullman during the COVID pandemic. Kim has served in many leadership roles in her community and the REALTOR® organization at the local, state and national levels. Kim was a recipient of the Robert Jemison Award in 2016 for her outstanding service to the state association.  

Taggart-Jones, a native of Tuscaloosa and Broker/Owner of Key Realty Company, has been a REALTOR® for over 18 years. Since her introduction to the real estate industry, she has been very active in the REALTOR® organization serving in leadership roles at her local and state associations. Taggart-Jones served as the 2023 President of the Tuscaloosa Association of REALTORS®.
