Governor Ivey Appoints Three to Alabama Real Estate Commission

On February 19, 2026, Governor Kay Ivey appointed Shawn Reeves, Jim Dye, and Vaughn Stough to serve on the Alabama Real Estate Commission. Their terms will begin October 1, 2026, and run through September 30, 2031. The five-year appointments are subject to confirmation by the Alabama State Senate. 

Shawn Reeves - First Congressional District

Reeves began her real estate career in 1997 and has been a REALTOR® since 2000. A resident of Enterprise, Alabama, she has demonstrated longstanding leadership within the industry. She served as the 2016 President of Alabama REALTORS® and was the 2022 David D. Roberts Award recipient. She currently serves as a member of the Alabama REALTORS® Foundation committee. 

Jim Dye - Sixth Congressional District

Dye has been a REALTOR® for over 40 years and is from Birmingham, Alabama. Throughout his career, he has served as a director on the local, state, and national levels. Dye was recognized as Alabama REALTOR® of the Year in 2010 and received the Robert Jemison Award in 2013. Dye has been serving on the Alabama Real Estate Commission since September 2022. 

Vaughn Stough - Consumer At Large

Stough, from Alexander City, Alabama, will serve in the Consumer At-Large seat. This position is reserved for a member of the public who is not a licensed real estate professional and is designed to represent the interests of consumers in matters before the Commission.
