Leadership AAR aligns Alabama REALTORS®' mission with a developmental program to build strong leaders for tomorrow to help ensure our industry and communities are prepared for the challenges ahead.

The Leadership AAR program is designed for members ready to learn more about themselves, the real estate industry, and begin their leadership journey. As a member of the program, you will

  • Refine public speaking and presentation skills, gain media training, and stay abreast of consumer and industry trends
  • Broaden your understanding of federal and state policy initiatives that affect the real estate industry


Program Description

The Leadership AAR program consists of a series of three (3) multi-day programs focused on advocacy (Session 1), leadership and consumer outreach (Session 2), and professionalism, ethics, & governance (Session 3). The program concludes at the end of Session 3. Participants are required to attend all sessions. The class is also invited to attend the Alabama REALTORS® Annual Conference.

SESSION 1: Advocacy

Participants will start this session by learning about state advocacy efforts, visit the Capitol, and hear from state leaders. Participants will fly to Washington, D.C., where they will experience public policy from a federal perspective by hearing from NAR’s governmental affairs staff, taking a trip to the U.S. Capitol, and meeting with federal leaders.

SESSION 2: Leadership and Consumer Outreach

Participants will dive into leadership in this session and learn how to elevate their public speaking and presentation skills to the next level, with tips for success from public speaking experts and media professionals. Participants will also learn more about consumer outreach, public relations, and positioning the REALTOR® membership as the trusted advisors and resource in their communities.

SESSION 3: Professionalism, Ethics & Governance

Participants will learn more about the cornerstone of the real estate profession, Professionalism & Ethics, and how to stay on top of their duties in today’s technology-driven world in an interactive and engaging session by a renowned leadership expert. Further, participants will learn governance and parliamentary procedure skills needed to succeed in leadership roles in business and their communities.

Alabama REALTORS® Annual Conference

The program concludes at the end of Session 3. Participants are invited to attend the Alabama REALTORS® Annual Conference.
