The Alabama Economic and Real Estate Report is a monthly statistics report produced by the Alabama Association of REALTORS® and their team of economists. The numbers and figures in this report are drawn from numerous government and proprietary data sources and represent best estimates at the time of release. As new data emerges, Alabama REALTORS® may, from time to time, update these figures to reflect more recent information.

 
 

Key Takeaways from the Most Recent Report

March 2025 Report 

  • Alabama had 6,214 home sales in March, a 5.6% increase from the previous month andan increase of 1,171 from last year.
  • The median sales price rose to $230,000, a 9.0% increase month-over-month and up $27,117 from a year ago. This is an annual increase of 13.4%.
  • The sold volume reached $1.59 billion in March, a 10.4% increase from February and a $0.49 billion (44.5%) increase from last March.
  • The 18,415 active listings at the end of March mark an annual increase of 26.2% compared to 14,587 one year ago.
  • The 445 foreclosures in March represent an 8.8% increase from the previous month but an 11.4% decrease year-over-year.
