Focus Groups
Time Commitment: Low
Focus groups will be solicited for providing invaluable feedback and input on various issues and proposals such as potential new products, services, and initiatives under consideration. This is a fun way to engage with minimal time commitment - the commitment typically being only for the duration of the focus group meeting.


Broker/Owner Meeting 
Time Commitment: Low
Participate in state and regional broker events for broker/owners on industry issues and trends, business development, lead generation, and risk management. 


Annual Awards and Installation Gala
Time Commitment: Low
The Annual Awards and Installation Gala celebrates those members who have served their association with distinction and who have excelled in different areas of their career. AAR’s incoming Executive Committee is also installed during this event each year. This event takes place every fall.  


New Member Recruitment and Identification   
Time Commitment: Low
Help identify non-REALTOR® licensees and share with them the benefits of joining the REALTOR® Association.


Credentials and Elections Committee
Time Commitment: Moderate
Members of the Credentials and Elections Committee review applications for AAR’s executive committee and board of directors to determine if the applicant meets the criteria for office as specified in AAR’s governing documents. The Committee also review the results from AAR’s elections to certify that the results are accurate.


Alabama REALTORS® Foundation Donor
Time Commitment: Low
Through the new Foundation, Alabama REALTORS® will support disaster relief efforts throughout the state, provide for benevolent efforts for REALTOR® members, and offer educational scholarships for children of REALTORS®.


Alabama REALTORS® Foundation Auto Tag
Time Commitment: Low
The Alabama REALTORS® Foundation auto tag allows REALTORS® to support the Foundation while displaying the REALTOR® R on their vehicle. The REALTOR® auto tag is easy to obtain at your local probate office by presenting your NAR ID card.  


Alabama REALTORS® Board of Directors
Time Commitment: Moderate
State Directors keep abreast of the current issues and problems facing the Alabama Association of REALTORS® and are charged with supporting AAR public and governing policies in furtherance of AAR’s mission. As a member of the Association’s governing body, a State Director is responsible for representing the entire membership of the state as a whole, not one’s local board, region, or market area. The Board of Directors helps oversee the mission and activities of the Association at the macro level. A member of the Board is expected to attend all Board meetings.


National Association of REALTORS® Entitlement Director
Time Commitment: Moderate
National Directors are to keep abreast of the current issues and problems facing the National Association of REALTORS®. As a member of NAR’s governing body, a National Director is responsible for representing the entire membership of NAR, not one’s local board, region, or state. A National Director is expected to attend both National Board of Directors meetings each year. National Directors are required to submit a report from each National Board meeting to AAR.


National Association of REALTORS® Committees
Time Commitment: Moderate
Committee members are volunteer leaders for the National Association of REALTORS® and are charged with establishing and supporting NAR public and governing policies in furtherance of NAR’s mission.


Awards Selection Task Force
Time Commitment: Moderate
The Awards Selection Task Force is charged with reviewing nominations for statewide awards and selecting the recipients. The awards the Task Force is responsible for include the David D. Roberts Award and the Robert Jemison Award, among others. 


Planning Committee
Time Commitment: Moderate
Members of the Planning Committee help review and develop the Association’s long-term strategic objectives.


Executive Committee
Time Commitment: High
The Executive Committee conducts the affairs of the Association to carry out the mission and strategic objectives of the Association. The Executive Committee is made up of a President, President-Elect, Treasurer, Secretary, Immediate Past President, and five Regional Vice Presidents (one representing each of AAR’s five geographical regions).


Future Alabama Real Estate Commission (AREC) Nomination
Time Commitment: High
When there is a vacancy on the Alabama Real Estate Commission (AREC), by Alabama statute, Alabama REALTORS® nominates three candidates for the Governor to consider for appointment to the Real Estate Commission. Members of AAR who are interested in an appointment to AREC may submit their resume and cover letter to the Association for consideration to be put forward to the Governor for his/her consideration for an appointment as it arises. The time commitment for submission is low. However, if nominated by the Governor and confirmed, the time commitment to serve on AREC is high.
