Alabama REALTORS® are more than real estate professionals—they are neighbors and leaders who are committed to giving back and supporting the people and places they serve. One way they make a difference is through the Alabama REALTORS® Foundation, which provides vital assistance across Alabama and surrounding states in times of need.

This Giving Tuesday, we celebrate the Foundation’s mission and the meaningful impact it has on members, their families, and our communities near and far.

Funded through voluntary contributions, fundraising events, and proceeds from the Voice for Real Estate specialty license plate, the Alabama REALTORS® Foundation fulfills its mission through three key programs: the Disaster Relief Fund, the Benevolent Fund, and the Education Scholarship Fund.

The Disaster Relief Fund ensures REALTORS® can respond quickly when unexpected crises occur, whether here in Alabama or in our neighboring states. In 2023, the Fund provided approximately $11,000 in relief, increasing to $12,880 in 2024. As of September 2025, the Foundation has already donated more than $16,800, including a truckload of water delivered to flood-affected communities in Texas and another shipment sent to North Carolina following Hurricane Helene.

The Benevolent Fund is a powerful example of REALTORS® helping REALTORS®. It assists members and their families facing temporary financial difficulty due to prolonged illness, catastrophic events, accidents, or death. In 2023, the fund provided $9,250 in much-needed assistance, followed by $8,367 in 2024. As of September 2025, more than $4,000 has already been distributed. These funds have supported medical expenses, covered fire losses, and helped families navigate life’s most heartbreaking moments.

The Education Scholarship Fund invests in the next generation by supporting children and grandchildren of active, licensed REALTOR® members. To date, 73 scholarships have been awarded, with $50,000 in scholarship funding provided this year alone. These scholarships open doors, ease financial stress, and help students pursue their goals. Please note: the scholarship program is open through December 31, 2025.

Since 2021, the Alabama REALTORS® Foundation has provided more than $250,000 in impactful, mission-driven support across all three of these programs.
