Alabama REALTORS® Board of Directors December Meeting Recap

The 2026 Alabama REALTORS® Board of Directors met on Thursday, December 11 at the Alabama REALTORS® Building in Montgomery for their first meeting of the new year to conduct business of the Association. 

The Board conducted annual board training and orientation, reviewed goals for 2026, discussed economic trends affecting our members’ businesses, received important Association updates, and conducted other Association business. Following the meeting, Directors enjoyed a holiday-themed lunch and fellowship at AAR. 

A summary of the activity can be found below:

  • REALTOR® Foundation Scholarship – the REALTOR® Foundation Scholarship deadline is approaching on December 31. The scholarship is open to REALTOR® members, their children, and their grandchildren. Click here to access the application. 
  • Virtual Fair Housing for All Class – AAR now offers a virtual Fair Housing for All course. This training is user-friendly, free to all Alabama REALTOR® members, and satisfies NAR’s Fair Housing training requirement. To access the course, click here.
  • 2026 Statewide Forms – AAR’s Legal Team is available to provide virtual training for you and your brokerage. In addition, the 2026 Alabama statewide forms will be released on April 1, aligning with the 2026 membership dues cycle.   • REALTOR® Day at the Capitol 2026 – Registration is now open for REALTOR® Day at the Capitol, scheduled for January 20 in Montgomery. The hotel room block expires December 20, so be sure to reserve your room soon. Details on the event and registration can be found here
  • Blue Sky Session: The board participated in a Blue Sky session to explore the future of real estate and emerging trends that could impact it; feedback on the disclosure of referral fees and client consent; and statewide professional standards support utilizing mediation and arbitration to resolve issues in a more efficient and consistent manner.
