Letter to the Board: Save the Date for April 30, 2026

Dear AAR Board of Directors,

I hope this letter finds you well. We are looking forward to seeing everyone at our second AAR Board of Directors meeting on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at 10:00 am. The meeting will be at the Alabama Association of REALTORS® Building at 522 Washington Avenue, Montgomery, AL. Sign-in will begin at 9:30 am.

The purpose of the meeting is to:

  • Review end of year financials
  • Receive the annual audit
  • Receive updates from the 2026 legislative session
  • Discuss legal challenges and economic trends affecting our members’ businesses
  • Update the board on pending projects
  • Gather feedback on future Association business
  • Conduct other Association business.

  • 2025 AAR End of Year Financials: The Association concluded 2025 in a strong financial position, with revenues totaling $5.1 million (slightly below 2024 levels) and expenses remaining in line with budget at $4.4 million, despite continued inflationary pressures impacting operating costs. The Association ended the year with a surplus of $699,532.01. (The 2025 AAR End of Year Financials are found on the BOD Resource Page)
  • 2025 AAR Audited Financial Statements: The Association received a clean audit from the independent audit firm Aldridge Borden. The audit includes the statement of activities, statement of financial position, changes in net assets, functional expenses, and cash flows of the Association. AAR’s total assets ended the year at $15.6 million and total liabilities at $1.1 million, resulting in total net assets of $15.6 million.  AAR’s net assets increased by $750,739 in 2025.  (The 2025 AAR Audited Financial Statements are available found on the BOD Resource Page)
  • 2026 Membership - March: The Association's dues billing deadline ended March 15. The March membership numbers reflect 18,292 REALTOR® members, an increase from 17,771 last year, a gain of 521 members, or 2.93%. You can read more here.
  • 2026 Legislative Session: The 2026 Legislative Session has concluded, with the Alabama Legislature adjourning after 30 legislative days. Alabama REALTORS® secured several key legislative, including passage of the Alabama Property Protection Act of 2026, which has been signed into law by the Governor Ivey, strengthening protections against property title fraud. Additional measures enacted include the expansion of catastrophe savings accounts and revisions to homestead exemption provisions.   You can read more here.

Please let us know if you will not attend the Board of Directors meeting. This meeting is for the 2026 AAR Board of Directors. Space and overflow seating will be limited. Parking will be available at the Association’s Parking lot at 502 Washington Avenue. The attire is business casual, and we will have lunch following the meeting at 12:00 pm for the AAR Directors in attendance.
