According to Clara Hansen, her first year of college was marked by personal growth: becoming more confident and believing she can do anything she sets her mind to. Currently studying writing, she approached her major through a unique lens — one that embraces a craft she loves, and that will help her in her career long-term.

"Since there are no prerequisites for law school, I was able to choose a major based on my own interests,” she said. “Writing is something I have always enjoyed, so I chose to study professional and public writing so that I will be prepared for writing in law school while also enjoying my time learning."

Katherine Hargrave’s medical school ambitions started at a young age. Through her biochemistry major, her ultimate goal is to improve health care access across the state, particularly in rural or underserved areas.
